November- A Message from our Pastor
As I was on my way to church this morning, my thoughts turned to the new beginning our church is about to experience. The joyful encouragement came to my mind. “Good things are on the way!” What are at least a few of those good things on the way? First of all, good things are happening in the way of finances. We will no longer have to commit over $900.00 per month to apportionments. This will be funds that we may now commit to the cause of Christ, and to ministry to our community that we were not able to commit this way before – although we were active in the connectional and worthwhile ministries of the United Methodist Church as a whole. We will also be blessed with clear title to our property, which I see as a great, great blessing. Last, but certainly not least, we are blessed to be unified in the doctrines of our church; and where there is unity there is strength. Undoubtedly, there are certainly benefits to being part of a large denomination that we will have to adjust to. There is also the connectional strength of working with a large number of churches that we will surely miss. But as we go forward, I am confident that we have followed the leading of the Lord, and that He will lead us in the days ahead as we decide to remain independent, or to be a part of another denomination. Give thanks with a grateful heart, and believe with me that good things are on the way. God bless you and rejoice in this magnificent fall that we are privileged to enjoy in beautiful western New York. We love you, and you are in our prayers every day.
